image The following statistics come from a Korean company who polled 814 Korean adults. I thought the statistics were interesting. I wonder what would numbers would be if they did a poll like this for American adults? More than half of adults said they are not afraid of death, according to a survey.

Gallop Korea said it surveyed 814 adults last month. Of them, 42 percent answered they are “not very” afraid of dying, and 18 percent said they are not afraid of death at all.

It said about 37 percent said they are afraid of death, and 7.5 percent said they were “very much” afraid.

By gender, 40 percent of female respondents said they are afraid, while 33 percent of male respondents replied they are afraid.

Seventy-one percent of respondents favored being cremated, while 24 percent said they preferred to be buried. The choice of cremation represents a 9.2 percentage point gain from 2001.
