Grace Holdings, LLC Makes Initial Funeral Home Acquisition

Grace Holdings, LLC, the newest entry into the funeral home, cremation, and cemetery acquisition space, is pleased to announce its first acquisition, Boone Funeral Home and Crematory, in Bossier City, LA. Established in 1972 by Charles and Margaret Boone, the funeral home has been caring for families and celebrating the lives of loved ones in greater Shreveport for almost 50 years.

“We are delighted to make the first of what we plan will be many acquisitions in the coming months,” commented James (Jim) Ford, Chief Operating Officer of Grace Holdings. “Boone represents a great first step and we look forward to announcing additional new acquisitions very soon.”

Ginger Hartman will remain on staff to run the funeral home. Hartman began her career in the funeral profession twenty years ago and in January 2009 she joined the Boone staff. Hartman not only holds funeral director and embalmer licenses, but she also is a Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP).

“We expect our business model will appeal to many independent funeral homes that are currently evaluating their succession plan options,” stated John Yopp, Senior Vice President of Acquisitions. “We are encouraged by the amount of interest we have received from leading independent funeral homes since we launched Grace Holdings.”

The executive team of Grace Holdings has deep experience in funeral service. Ford has held senior management positions with Service Corporation International (SCI), Stonemor, and Foundation Partner Group. Yopp has a strong family tradition in the funeral profession as the owner and publisher of the Southern Funeral Director magazine and owns several funeral homes and a preneed marketing company.
