Jill Muenich Named President-Homesteaders Solutions Group

West Des Moines, Iowa — Homesteaders Life Company Executive VP-Sales & Marketing Lyndon Peterson announced today that Jill Muenich will head a new subsidiary, Homesteaders Solutions Group. Muenich joined Homesteaders as Vice President-Business Development in March of 2019 and has already made significant contributions to the company during her short tenure.

“Homesteaders is seeking to enable prearrangement and funding for two million new consumers by 2030. To achieve this, we are committed to leveraging our resources to invest in bringing innovative new solutions to market that greatly increase opportunities for connecting consumers with funeral professionals,” says Peterson. “As president of Homesteaders Solutions Group, Jill will be responsible for integrating, managing, coordinating and innovating a growing portfolio of best-in-class resources that today includes eFuneral, Domani’s Preneed Planning Center and Domanicare.”

Muenich feels this role is a natural and exciting career progression. “When I joined Homesteaders 18 months ago, I expressed my enthusiasm for aligning with a company that everyone knows has a strong brand and is an innovative leader in the funeral space,” she says. “The forming of Homesteaders Solutions Group is a demonstration of that innovation. It’s a significant organizational evolution to now include a focus on being the best in the industry at helping connect consumers with funeral professionals on a scale never seen before.”

Homesteaders Chairman, President and CEO Steve Shaffer believes Homesteaders Solutions is key to his vision for the company. “There are many forces that are creating operational and profitability challenges for funeral professionals. Our strategy is to invest in consumer engagement and innovative resources that help funeral providers and marketing organizations provide excellent experiences for families in every aspect of their engagement,” he says. “In the end, we all win if we can reach more people in a positive way and share both the importance and value of the work done by the funeral profession. As a partner that is fully and exclusively committed to funeral service, Homesteaders has a responsibility to invest in the profession with our time, our subject matter expertise and our resources. We could not be more excited about the opportunity to see Jill take on this important role to help make that vision a reality.”

Muenich has more than three decades of experience in sales and financial services, with the past ten years centered on preneed marketing, sales and operations. While her most recent work has focused on the funeral space, her experience extends to Fortune 100 companies including MassMutual, Verizon and Pepsi. She and her wife, Laura, reside in Madison, Wis.

Homesteaders Life Company, a mutual company owned by its policy holders, is a national leader providing products and services to promote and support the funding of advance funeral planning and end-of-life expenses.
