2020 ICCFA University In Atlanta, Georgia Cancelled Amid COVID-19 Pandemic
STERLING, VA – After much deliberation, the International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association (ICCFA) has come to the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 ICCFA University, set for July 17 – 22 at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
The decision comes as a result of ongoing public health and safety concerns surrounding the coronavirus pandemic and input from the ICCFA leadership, staff, ICCFA University Deans, public health experts, and our membership.
Following both required and recommended public health guidelines, we would not be able to safely provide the learning opportunities that occur both in and out of the classroom, and that combine to create an exceptional ICCFAU experience for students and professors alike.
At this time, the ICCFA would like to extend our gratitude to the Emory Conference Center Hotel. They have worked closely with us throughout this process in attempts to make our event a reality. While
safety concerns prevent us from gathering in-person this July, we look forward to hosting our inaugural year at Emory in 2021.
Students who were awarded and accepted a scholarship from the ICCFA Educational Foundation for 2020, will be able to transfer that scholarship to 2021.
As a result of this cancellation, the ICCFA is developing a free webinar program with the deans of each of the eight colleges at ICCFAU. Free and open to everyone to attend, we hope that these digital offerings will keep you informed and make you even more excited to join us for ICCFA University 2021. More information on these webinars will be posted on iccfa.com as it becomes available.
ICCFA University will return next year, July 23 – 28, 2021. Visit iccfa.com/university for more information on the event as it becomes available.
