Rollings Funeral Service is Proud to Support their Local Medical Professionals
TYRONE, GA ⎯ While the coronavirus has forced a growing number of businesses to send their employees to work from the safety of their own homes, there is one group that has no other choice but to be on the frontlines ⎯ healthcare professionals. In an effort to recognize these heroes, the almost 50 funeral homes in Rollings Funeral Service have spent the last two weeks donating meals to their local first responders and emergency room staff.
“These men and women, day in and day out, are selflessly putting their own health at risk to care for those in the middle of this pandemic,” said Greg Rollings, President & CEO, of Rollings Funeral Service. Greg Rollings, whose own daughter is an ER nurse, has witnessed first-hand the long hours and hard work medical professionals are putting in to care for their patients while trying to slow the pandemic. With almost 50 funeral homes in the organization that are spread across seven states, Rollings Funeral Service is proud of the large number of medical professionals that they are able to show their gratitude to.
As coronavirus cases continue to show up in every state across the U.S., New York State remains at the number one spot. Currently, Rollings Funeral Service owns four funeral homes in Upstate New York, so it was especially important to them that those funeral homes show support for their medical professionals who are tirelessly working to slow the spread. “Every day they step forward, ignoring their personal feelings, to selflessly protect us,” said Robert Olthof, Regional Manager of New York and Pennsylvania for Rollings Funeral Service. He further mentioned that these meal donations were just one small way in which we can show our support for the community during these times.
While it was important for Rollings Funeral Service to show support for the medical professionals in their communities, they also wanted to support their local restaurants that have been affected. “Whenever possible, we encouraged our funeral homes to use their local restaurants for their meal donations. A sense of community is more important now than it has ever been, and we want to raise our communities up in any way we can during this time,” said Greg Rollings.
