NFDA Cancels Professional Women’s Conference and Advocacy Summit

Brookfield, Wis. – Due to the unprecedented public health crisis caused by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and current guidance from the White House and the CDC regarding public gatherings, NFDA is cancelling its Professional Women’s Conference (scheduled for April 24-26 at the Confidante Hyatt Hotel in Miami, FL) and Advocacy Summit (scheduled for April 29-May 1 at The Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C.; this includes all ancillary meetings and events scheduled prior to the Summit).

The health and safety of meeting attendees is foremost in the minds of NFDA leadership and staff during this difficult time and they appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding of the need to cancel these events.

Professional Women’s Conference

Funeral professionals who have registered for the Professional Women’s Conference have two options for their registration fee:

1. Roll their registration to the 2021 NFDA Professional Women’s Conference (dates and location TBD).

2. Receive a refund.

Registrants should contact the NFDA member services team at 800-228-6332 with their preferred option.

Applications for the 2020 Funeral Service Foundation’s Professional Women Conference scholarship are being reviewed. Winners will be notified soon and invited to use their scholarship for the 2021 Professional Women’s Conference.

It is the responsibility of all registrants who booked hotel rooms directly with the Confidante Hyatt Hotel to cancel their reservation. Even if an attendee receives an email from the hotel regarding the cancellation of their hotel room, it is strongly advised they contact the hotel to confirm it is cancelled. NFDA will not be responsible for any hotel charges if attendees who booked directly don’t cancel their rooms. Guests who booked directly have 72 hours prior to arrival to cancel their reservations. Call the Confidante at 833-816-4530.

NFDA’s Business Development Team will reach out to Professional Women’s Conference sponsors to discuss how they can support the association in a different way.
