ICCFA Educational Foundation to Award 100 Scholarships in 2019

STERLING, VA (August 29, 2018) – The Educational Foundation of the International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association (ICCFA) recently announced that they will be awarding a record number of 100 scholarships to ICCFA educational events in 2019. As in past years, scholarships will be available for students who wish to attend the Wide World of Sales Conference, held on January 23-25, 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada and the ICCFA University, scheduled for July 19-24, 2019 in Memphis, Tennessee.

The ICCFA Educational Foundation is a 501(c)(3) entity, the sole purpose of which is to make education accessible to future leaders in the deathcare profession and thereby raise the standards of professionalism within the industry. Most of the scholarships granted to date have been to attend the ICCFA University, an intensive, five-day course of study, concentrated in eight different disciplines: 21st Century Services; Cremation; Land Management & Grounds Operations; Leadership, Administration & Management; Funeral Home Management; Sales & Marketing; International Studies and Hospitality and Event Management.

In 2012, the Foundation awarded its first scholarship to attend the ICCFA Wide World of Sales Conference, designed to help attendees become successful in the funeral and cemetery sales profession by showcasing innovative sales and marketing sessions, best practices, and proven ways to meet the expectations of today’s families.

Awarding 100 scholarships will mark an important milestone in the Foundation’s history. “We are very proud to be able to provide a record-breaking number of scholarship in 2019,” said Jim Price, CCFE, CCrE, president of the ICCFA Educational Foundation. “With the number of talented and caring individuals in funeral service that just need the means to further educate themselves and enhance their abilities to serve their client families, we are proud to be able to put these educational opportunities within their reach. None of this would be possible without the generous donations of the Foundation’s corporate and personal donors.”

Scholarship applicants must be employed by an ICCFA member in good standing. Applications can be found online by visiting iccfa.com/scholarships. The deadline to submit for the Wide World of Sales is November 5, 2018. ICCFA University scholarship applications will be due February 18, 2019.
