WHY DO WE GIVE ALL OUR CONTENT AWAY FOR FREE? | DISRUPT60 007
This question gets asked on the daily, “Why do you give so much away for free?”.
It’s a pretty simple question, and the answer is easy – because I feel it is the right thing to do. Period. Let me explain…
I’m on the side of the funeral profession and moving it forward. Making money along the way is excellent, but it’s not the driver. I leave so much money on the table because I feel like what I am doing is the right thing, and I fully believe that historically I will be correct. I don’t record the DISRUPTu! Show or FUNERAL Hustle because I love to see myself on video and hear myself talk. I do it because we live in a profession where everybody nickel and dimes funeral directors to buy content that is perfectly useless. That won’t be my legacy or that of DISRUPT Media’s. 10s of thousands of funeral professionals digest my content on a monthly basis and I am humbled and grateful for that, but I also believe that what I put out is the most valuable content they watch. I could easily charge thousands of dollars for the advice I give away for free, but I rather give more than I get in return. I have been told a hundred times, by other business owners and consultants, that it is the wrong business move but I couldn’t care less because, for me, it’s what feels right. I believe that time will prove how right I am and I will win, and so will the profession, more for doing what I think is right versus what every consultant says is right.
