FrontRunner Professional Brings Funeral Homes Together In An Effort To Help Support Victims Of Hurricane Harvey

As a response to Hurricane Harvey, a storm which has caused disastrous flooding in Houston and impacted much of southeastern Texas, FrontRunner Professional announced an initiative that will bring the funeral industry together to garner monetary support for relief and recovery efforts.

In May, the technology provider announced the funeral industry’s first partnership with GoFundMe with the release of A Helping Hand™ Crowdfunding, and will use the platform to leverage a growing client base, their communities and inspire other funeral homes and technology providers to contribute as well.

“When something like this happens, it is important that people come together to help one another and provide support to those who need it. At FrontRunner, we believe in empowering funeral homes to work closely with the communities they serve not only during times of loss, but year round. Watching the news and seeing all of those people affected, we knew it was time to act. By leveraging our clients and their service areas, we hope to set an example,” says Jules Green, CEO of FrontRunner Professional.

Over the past few years, crowdfunding has become an increasingly popular way for people to make helpful contributions in times of great need. Though large scale relief efforts have not yet become the norm, crowdfunding platforms are the perfect channel with which to unite people for major tragedies. A Helping Hand, which was originally designed specifically for death care, is powered by the world’s largest such platform that has already seen over $500,000 raised for the victims of Harvey.

“If we can keep up the momentum of the support already received by our partners, GoFundMe, by bringing together the entire death care industry, we will set a valuable precedent for future disasters and tragedies,” concluded Green.
