Eyes On The Road PSA is Going Viral
Volkswagen decided to try a new method to get drivers’ attention about the dangers of texting behind the wheel, putting them in the middle of an interactive PSA.
They worked with a movie theater in Hong Kong, surprising movie-goers with a first hand look at how fast a crash can happen.
Instead of movie previews, the first thing the audience saw was the view behind the wheel as a car went down a road. Then, using location-based technology, they sent a text message to every cellphone in the theater. Within seconds of the audience members looking away from the screen to pull out their phones, the car crashed, startling the entire theater.
