NACMS Names Wayne Cavender, CFSP As New Executive Director

NACMS Names Wayne Cavender, CFSP As New Executive Director

J. Chandler Altieri, Ed.D., President of the National Association of Colleges of Mortuary Science,  announces that Wayne Cavender, CFSP of Dallas, TX has been appointed as the new Executive Director for the organization.

 

Mr. Cavender has taught for nearly 20 years at Dallas Institute of Funeral Service.  He has taught Pathology, Chemistry, and Embalming Discussions for all of that time and numerous other courses throughout his tenure.  He serves as Administrative Assistant to the President and Co-sponsor of the Epsilon Chapter of Pi Sigma Eta Fraternity at the college.  He holds an Associate of Applied Science Degree from Dallas Institute of Funeral Service, a Bachelor of Science Degree from Missouri Western State University, and a Master of Arts Degree from Amberton University.  He is a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in both the states of Missouri and Texas and a Certified Funeral Service Practitioner.

Wayne has served on numerous accreditation visiting teams, on the National Board Liaison Committee and was recently appointed to the Curriculum Committee all for the American Board of Funeral Service Education.  He has also participated in numerous ABFSE Hilgenfeld curriculum workshops and several International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards item writing workshops.  He is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, the Texas Funeral Directors Association, the Missouri Funeral Directors Association, and the Dallas County Funeral Directors Association.
