It is suspected that many small, lower end pizza shops are using dug up casket wood to use for their baking.

Cemeteries in Naples have been desecrated and targets for thieves for quite some time, as many flower pots were stolen from graveyards in the area.

However, bakery and pizza shop owners are not purposely trying to be ghoulish. The economy all over the world is still in rough shape. They are trying to cut corners and using casket wood is a good way to save money. But in the end has “grave” consequences. Pizza from Naples for dinner, anyone?
