We often talk about songs that are appropriate for being played at a funeral service. So for a humorous change of pace we want to share a Youtube video we found that lists the 10 worst songs to play at a funeral.

Are these song inappropriate to be played at a funeral service? Or the better question may be; Have you ever played one of these 10 songs at a funeral service per a request from family?

The family put together a cd to be played, and requested that at the end of the service once the service song was played to just “let it play out” as the family & friends passed the casket a final time…The Lady and the Tramp played in the background… awkward but everyone thought it was the deceased…”gotcha” and found the moment humorous.

One of our local funeral homes just played “Hotel California” today. I wonder if they knew the song was about hell with Anton LaVey founder of the Church of Satan from the 70’s in the window of original album cover.

Good list. We have played just about everything you can think of, but only 1 from this list.
