EWA continues growth with introduction of nationwide air shipping container program

October 4, 2012, FORT WAYNE, INDIANA—Eagle’s Wings Air (EWA), the nation’s leading provider of logistics services to North American funeral homes and shipping services, continues to enhance its one-call service model and increase its service offerings with the debut of its line of “EWA-Approved” air tray and combination tray shipping containers.

Through strategic partnerships with regional container manufacturers, EWA will now offer these rigorously tested and certified shipping units. Each unit offered by EWA is independently lab-tested, certified and airline-compliant and will bear a custom EWA seal of approval upon passing these tests. In addition, each unit will feature an IPPC “Bug Stamp” for international shipping.

The containers will be available to customers nationwide and backed with same-day shipping via a nationwide distribution network with regional manufacturing sites. In addition, a streamlined ordering system through EWA’s customer service center will help ensure fast and cost-effective delivery throughout the U.S.

“As a leader and innovator within this segment, we’ve worked closely with our partners to ensure these air shipping containers are high quality and rigorously tested, thus earning EWA’s seal of approval,” said Frank Kaiser, president and CEO of EWA. “By combining my airline and logistics experience with the considerable funeral service experience of our chairman and co-founder, Dave McComb, we believe we are uniquely positioned to best serve the shipping needs of the worldwide community of funeral directors. We are true advocates for funeral service within the airline industry, and Dave and both I feel strongly – as does everyone at EWA – that we need to enhance the visibility and awareness of the transportation of human remains within airline networks – doing so enhances the respect and dignity afforded those remains in transit from one place to another.”

“A loved one is more than ‘cargo’ and must be treated with a higher level of attention and care,” McComb added. “The EWA branded shipping container educates and reminds airline warehouse personnel of this important fact each and every time they see our product.”

EWA will begin taking customer orders for the new EWA-Approved shipping units at the 2012 NFDA International Convention & Expo, which will be held October 7-10 in Charlotte, NC. More information regarding the product can be found at www.CallEWA.com or by calling 866-550-1EWA (1392).
