Green Burial Council To Update Providers in Free Webinar 

Green Burial Council Offers Quarterly Series for Industry Professionals

July 17, 2024–The Green Burial Council, Inc. (GBC) will host a free webinar on July 24th, 2024: “Peer to Peer: Annual Report to Providers” at 6PM CT updating the community on changes at the GBC, including updates to certification fees, a new product standard, a new provider platform, advertising and sponsorship opportunities, and more. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, give feedback, and make suggestions about how the GBC can better serve our community of providers. The GBC hosts quarterly webinars in two separate series, Peer to Peer and Public. While both are open to the public, the Peer to Peer forum provides a space for industry professionals to learn and ask questions about applying natural burial practices.  Register at www.eventbrite.com and search “Green Burial Council” to find upcoming webinars.  

Darren Crouch and Sam Bar of the GBC will present at the webinar, and open up for a Q&A session to follow.  

Darren Crouch is the current president of the GBC and is also president and co-founder of environmentally responsible funeral product company Passages International, Inc. and agreenerfuneral.org. He has been in the funeral industry for over 25 years and has been featured in The Director Magazine, The American Funeral Director Magazine, Funeral Business Advisor, The Cremationist, the ICCFA Magazine, the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. Darren has also spoken at several national and international funeral conventions, including the Asia Funeral Expo, the National Funeral Directors Convention, and the ICCFA Convention.

Sam Bar came to the GBC through a passion for sustainable product design and manufacturing. Utilizing his BS in Industrial Engineering from Northeastern University and global manufacturing experience, he developed and managed the GBC’s Burial Product Certification program for over 10 years. As a board member, he looks forward to developing the processes & technologies of the GBC to support the growing number of certified deathcare providers. Outside of the GBC, he spends his days working with community health centers on their clinical quality data needs.
