State and national funeral service associations are fortunate to have dedicated volunteers and leaders serving on boards, committees and work groups. Funeral professionals who want to enhance their leadership skills to make a positive difference in their associations and the profession should attend the 2016 National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA) Leadership Conference, which will take place July 10-13 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Las Vegas, Nev.

NFDA has invited respected leadership and association management experts to present at this year’s conference; attendees will leave feeling inspired and have ideas and tools to help them be innovative and effective funeral service leaders.

Tough Talking: Initiating and Managing Difficult Discussions presented by Mary Byers, president of the association consulting firm Mary Byers Inc.

Road to Relevance: Five Strategies for Competitive Associations also presented by Byers.

Leadership Conference attendees will also participate in the popular “Breakout by Office” discussions during which association officers and executives talk about challenges they face in their particular roles and share strategies for success. NFDA Director of Member Development Lacy Robinson will give conference attendees a glimpse at the new NFDA Arranger Training program and Funeral Service Foundation Executive Director Danelle O’Neill will share an update on the Foundation’s activities.

In addition to valuable educational programs, attendees will have plenty of time to network with colleagues and friends while exploring the sights, sounds and excitement of Las Vegas. Located in the Mandalay Bay tower, the Four Seasons Hotel has the same amenities offered by Mandalay Bay along with the upscale comfort travelers expect from Four Seasons hotels. NFDA has secured a limited number of rooms for the discounted rate of $189 plus tax. A resort fee of $20 per day will be added to the room rate; the fee includes: one king bed or two double beds; premium high speed internet access for multiple devices in guest rooms, lobby, restaurants, pool and spa; daily newspaper delivery; access to Mandalay Bay pools, lazy river and wave pool; in-room coffee/tea maker; in-room safe; refrigerated private bar.
