David S. Larsen Named NFDA Convention, Events and Meetings Director

David S. Larsen Named NFDA Convention, Events and Meetings Director

Brookfield, Wis. – The National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA), the largest funeral service association in the world, selected David S. Larsen as its new convention, events and meetings director. In this post, Larsen will be responsible for overseeing the development and production of high quality, innovative meetings and events for funeral service professionals, such as the NFDA International Convention & Expo, Professional Women’s Conference, Advocacy Summit and Leadership Conference.

His meeting-planning duties at NFDA will include site selection, contract negotiation, budget oversight, and coordinating housing, travel, food and beverage, internet/telecommunications, audio/visual, transportation, special events/entertainment and security. He will also oversee exhibit floor development and expo sales for the NFDA International Convention & Expo and supervise sponsorship solicitation for NFDA programs and events.

Larsen has nearly 20 years of experience in the meeting planning and food and beverage industries. Most recently, he served as the assistant vice president of meetings and conventions for the American College of Chest Physicians, an international medical association with more than 17,000 physician. There he was responsible for the logistics of more than 40 meetings and events annually.
