TYRONE, GA – Rollings Funeral Service is proud to announce their recent addition of E. P. Mahar and Son Funeral Home and Mt. Anthony Cremation Services of Bennington, VT. The businesses, which have roots in their community dating back to 1935, were formerly owned by John Mahar.

Greg Rollings, president & CEO of Rollings Funeral Service, commented “As the owner of a family business myself, I always look for funeral homes that were founded and run on family values and principles. Beginning with John’s grandfather in the ‘30s, E. P. Mahar and Son Funeral Home has built a strong foundation of care in their community for almost 90 years. I look forward to helping build upon that foundation and I know Mahar will add great value to our family of funeral homes.” Rollings also noted that this marks his second addition in Vermont.

Speaking with the operations manager, Shari Hand, she mentioned that former owner John Mahar was at the point in his career where he wanted to start looking at the next chapter for himself and the funeral home. When asked why Mahar chose Rollings Funeral Service, Hand said “It just made sense. We had done a lot of research on Rollings and the fact that it’s a family run business and will continue to stay that way was a big reason.” Overall, the best part to them is that nothing about the funeral home will change. “The staff will remain the same, the way we serve will remain the same and families won’t notice any changes. We’ll still be able to maintain the same integrity and quality of care as we have over the past 80+ years,” Hand noted.

Annually, the funeral home serves over 300 families and handles over 700 cremations at their Bennington facility.
