New eBook Offers Advice for Thoughtful Advance Preparation to Provide Comfort and Peace of Mind at End-of-Life Transition

Passare, Inc., a trusted and relevant source for end-of-life planning and management, today announced the release of its newest resource How-to Guide:  “Preparing for a Loved One’s End-of-Life.”  Released as the 17th in a series designed to provide information, advice and counsel on end-of-life matters, the new eBook focuses on how to manage the different stages of a loved one’s end-of-life.

Benefits of Preparation

While facing end-of-life is difficult and painful, making the proper preparations can ease burdens and provide comfort for both the loved one as well as supporting friends and family. Passare’s new eBook aims to help families gain peace of mind and focus on the time that they have with loved ones approaching end-of-life by offering perspectives and advice on making thoughtful preparations and clarifying final wishes.

“Having conversations about end-of-life with your loved ones as early as possible in the process helps reduce stress.  Preparing both your loved one and yourself for end-of-life allows you to focus on the present and appreciate the time you have left together,” commented Nancy Rust, Co-Founder of Y Collaborative, a consultancy specializing in end-of-life education and planning.

Taking it Step by Step

Passare’s new guide provides detailed suggestions on handling each stage of a loved one’s end-of-life—from accepting a loved one’s condition and managing documents and tasks to selecting the best care tailored towards individual needs and giving and receiving support after the passing of a loved one. The passing of a loved one may evoke a range of emotions, from relief to sadness.   The How-to Guide, “Preparing for a Loved One’s End-of-Life,” includes a helpful checklist for coping with life without loved one, with suggestions including joining a bereavement support group, getting involved in a new activity, establishing a tribute or memorial , or talking to a grief counselor.

The guide also includes suggestions for honoring a loved one in the years to come, such as planting a tree in a loved one’s name, finishing a project the deceased was working on, and planning a memorial service or candle light vigil on the anniversary of their passing.

The new eBook adds to Passare’s growing library of content—ranging from articles and how-to-guides to checklists and FAQs—to help families educate themselves and make thoughtful decisions on pre-arrangement planning and related end-of-life topics. Helping guide families through one of life’s most important passages, the company’s mission is to ease the emotional, financial, and logistical burden on families by facilitating difficult end-of-life conversations and decisions.
