It depends. If they are a public cemetery, and there are no limitations on the right to inter (some restrict to the deceased being a citizen of their city) then they probably do not have that right. It is a slippery slope. If they are private, then they can elect not to do business with someone as long as they are not violating the civil rights of the person (race, creed, national origin). There is no discrimination against people that do reprehensible acts.

I would be willing to bet that there is an Islamic Cemetery in Michigan or Islamic land in New England that would accept the interment. I have a difficult time extending the full rights of a U.S. Citizen to a non-citizen (other than emergency health care).

I have to ask (because I do not know) if John Wayne Glace or Ted Bundy was buried in a cemetery would you want your family to share the same ground? How about Osama Bin Laden or Hitler or Dillinger even? People may not be so willing to purchase graves in your cemetery, so I see why people would not open their gates to an anti-American terrorist/murder.

As a matter of interest, there are hundreds or more NAZI graves all across America from WWII POW camps that where here in the states. So bury the guy in an unmarked grave somewhere in the dark of the night extra deep in some undesirable part of a graveyard and get it over with.

Some people are trying to milk this situation to show how unfair and unjust Americans are. We are not. We just do not look with much compassion upon those who want to kill us, especially our children. If you did what he has done to us in some countries and you would be lucky to have your body tossed into a dump and the vultures and wild dogs eat your remains. There is without a doubt, plenty of money to have buried this terrorist the day after his boy was released. When this issue has run out of mileage, I am sure the burial will quietly take place somewhere.

    Has anyone tried Cuba?
