I am sorry to say that after years of trying, I haven’t found a perfect solution to making video tributes. We started using TributeLink through our Batesville run website. The advantages are that the tribute connects and streams from the obituary page and the process of making the video is pretty simple. The disadvantages: the program only allows for 50 photos and the program offers panning and zooming effects but are very low quality and pixelated. With the 50 photo max there is a work around where you can make multiple tributes separately to incorporate extra photos but it is a huge hassle. Then after the hassle you have to utilize third party software to record and combine the separate tributes because what’s the point of using the family’s extra photos if all of them can’t be shown at the wake. My issue with the low quality effects (that automatically get applied to most of the photos) is that it calls for the tedious effort of removing the effect from each photo manually. I used to make tributes myself using iPhoto that came out absolutely gorgeous but were complicated to the other directors, leaving me as the only one that could make them.
