Homesteaders Introduces Burnout Prevention Program for Funeral Professionals

West Des Moines, Iowa – Homesteaders Life Company, in partnership with Dr. Jason Troyer, author and founder of Mount Hope Grief Services, is proud to present Finding Resilience. The new program is designed specifically for funeral and allied professionals to help prevent burnout and support a reduction in career fatigue.

“I am pleased to partner with Homesteaders to create programs and resources to help funeral professionals cope with the often stressful, but highly rewarding work they do to serve and care for grieving families,” Troyer affirmed.

Finding Resilience will offer resources and support to those working closely with families affected by end-of-life decisions and funeral planning. The new program will consist of an ever-growing suite of resources aimed at helping funeral professionals cope and thrive – finding resilience in a profession that means so much to families and the communities they serve.

“At Homesteaders, we care deeply about the wellbeing of funeral professionals who are passionate about serving families, but are constantly exposed to stressful situations and environments,” affirmed Steve Shaffer, Homesteaders COO. “We don’t want our profession to lose good people to career burnout, and we are confident that our program can help retain folks who’ve invested so much to be successful in their careers.”

Homesteaders Manager-Marketing and Communications Barb Bloomquist, who worked closely with Dr. Troyer to develop the materials to support his program, agreed: “We were able to take the information provided by Dr. Troyer and develop the tools he’ll use in his hands-on presentations and workshops, as well as a variety of free resources that funeral professionals can access whenever needed. These will include weekly email messages, inspirational blog posts, videos, journals and more.”

Bloomquist added the scope of the program will continue to expand as Dr. Troyer gains feedback and collaborates with other professionals and experts in the end-of-life care community. Additional information about the Finding Resilience program can be found at homesteaderslife.com/resilience.
