2017 Homesteaders Heroes Program Honors Outstanding Employees

West Des Moines, Iowa — Homesteaders Life Company, the national leader in prearranged funeral funding, has announced the recipients of its annual peer-nominated Homesteaders Heroes awards. The award program recognizes employees who demonstrate Homesteaders’ values and make a significant impact on the success of the company and its customers.

Homesteaders Heroes award winners were chosen based on nominations from their colleagues. Homesteaders EVP-HR & Administration Judy Ralston-Hansen noted that this selection process makes the recognition particularly meaningful.

“We’re pleased by the continued enthusiasm for the Homesteaders Heroes program, which gives employees an opportunity to honor each other for exceptional achievements,” Ralston-Hansen said. “This year, 39 employees were nominated for their outstanding contributions that help our company and our customers succeed.”

Rising Star Award: Rob Aeschliman, Network Administrator

This award recognizes an employee who demonstrates eagerness to learn, commitment to Homesteaders and engagement with the company and peers early in his or her career.

“Rob demonstrates a combination of excellent customer service, technical aptitude and a desire to learn on a daily basis,” one of his colleagues noted on the Homesteaders Heroes nomination form. “He regularly interacts with external customers and provides excellent service and follow-up to ensure their issues are resolved and that they are satisfied.”

 

Innovation Award: Raisa Brodskiy, Senior Document Management/QC Specialist

This award recognizes an employee for the successful implementation of a new or updated product, service or program that results in a measurable improvement in the company’s performance, processes or brand strength.

“Raisa is a fabulous employee, a huge asset to our company and is deserving of this award and recognition,” Brodskiy’s colleague wrote on her nomination form. “She is very passionate about her job and regularly submits ideas that help us improve operations.”

 

Outstanding Teamwork Award: Jim Carson, Senior Media Production Specialist

This award recognizes an outstanding member of a project team who has demonstrated enthusiasm, cooperation, problem-solving skills, commitment to success and a consistently positive attitude.

“From his commitment to marketing innovation, to his willingness to work outside the department and his participation in activities that build company culture, Jim Carson demonstrates outstanding teamwork,” one of his colleagues wrote on his nomination form.

 

Enduring Impact Award: Sharon Teale, Director-Licensing and Compensation

This award recognizes an employee for a significant, long-term contribution or body of accomplishments to Homesteaders that make a lasting impact on the company’s success.

“Because of her loyalty, knowledge, passion and dedication, I believe Sharon has helped make us successful in every new venture,” one of her colleagues noted on her Homesteaders Heroes nomination form. “Each and every time, she focuses on the tasks at hand and makes it happen, which results in customer satisfaction.”
