OGR’S 2016 Scholarship Applications Deadline February 29

DECEMBER 1, 2015 – AUSTIN, TEXAS – The International Order of the Golden Rule (OGR), the world’s leading professional association dedicated to serving the professional needs of independent funeral homes, is pleased to announce that the OGR Foundation is now accepting applications for its Awards of Excellence Scholarship Program.  Applications are due by February 29, 2016.

The OGR Foundation will award two scholarships, one for $3,500 and another for $2,000. Scholarships are awarded on merit as determined by the Foundation board. Awards will be presented at OGR’s 2016 Annual Conference & Supplier Showcase in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 28, 2016.

The Awards of Excellence Scholarship Program provides scholarships to students based on strong academic performance, funeral service experience and the strength of their essay.

To be eligible, applicants must be currently enrolled in a mortuary science degree program at an accredited mortuary school, be scheduled to graduate during 2016, have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, and commit to working for an independently owned funeral home.
