Funeral Home Tries Heart-Stopping Advertising

imageA funeral home in northern Austria has found an unusual way of advertising for more business: by placing a hearse at dangerous crossroads, bearing the words “We are always here for you”.

The publicity stunt for Mike Reisecker’s business in Raab, in Upper Austria, has already drawn ire from the local chamber of commerce, which has deemed it “shameless and macabre,” the daily Bezirksrundschau Schaerding noted on Thursday.

But the man behind the idea, advertising executive Markus Menigat, said he hoped it would also raise awareness about safe driving.

“People will be warned and will hopefully drive more carefully,” he told the newspaper.

“We want to push the envelope, but also be respectful.”

In any case, potential clients should have no trouble finding Reisecker’s business online. His website is very suitably located at www.rip.at.
