Although ASD has not experienced an interruption of service since employing the Emergency Broadcast System, the quarterly test is part of ASD’s initiative to prepare in advance for any unfortunate event. Here’s what’s happening: People seeking an enhanced high soak marijuana joints in, in these particular cases, formaldehyde, for the secondary effects. “Embalming fluid burns more slowly than the marijuana would if it were not treated,” says Dr. Bret Nicks, assistant professor of emergency medicine at Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston-Salem, N.C. CHICAGO — The funeral industry giant that operates four Alderwoods funeral homes in the Chicago area has forced Teamsters Local 727 to file unfair labor practice charges at the National Labor Relations Board and its employees to strike. The union-represented funeral directors, embalmers and livery drivers voted overwhelmingly to strike late Tuesday night.
“Our members don’t want to go on strike, but they have been pushed into a corner,” said John Coli Jr., President of Teamsters Local 727, which represents more than 450 Chicagoland funeral industry workers. “This corporation has unmercifully bullied these hardworking men and women for years.”

The story that I’m about to share with you really resonated with me. It resonated with me on many levels with one of them being in the area of the death of a pet. The perception by some on the topic as a whole regarding pet loss and the grief associated with it.
The perception by some that someone who’s grieving over the loss of an animal is weak. The perception by some that the loss of a beloved pet doesn’t need acknowledgment or the respect of sympathy. The perception by some that the loss of an animal is a lesser loss than the loss of a human being. And, the perception by some that people who grieve over the loss of an animal are crazy.
