CANA, CTQ, FSAC PARTNERSHIP BRINGING FRENCH LANGUAGE CREMATORY OPERATIONS TRAINING TO CANADA

The partnership between Corporation des thanatologues du Québec (CTQ), Funeral Services Association of Canada (FSAC), and Cremation Association of North America (CANA) looks to be a smashing success when French-language crematory operations training kicks off in Montreal on May 30. The three associations collaborated to translate the CANA Crematory Operations Certification Program™ curriculum and materials into French and train instructors to deliver the content in the classroom.

“Our partnership with FSAC and CTQ ensures this vital professional education reaches an even broader audience across North America,” says CANA President, Sheri Richardson Stahl. “CTQ and FSAC are the perfect partners to guarantee that the highest professional and educational standards are achieved.”

For their part, FSAC and CTQ are eager to offer quality French-language education to their members and other Canadian death care professionals. CANA’s COCP will be offered in conjunction with the FSAC 2016 Convention and Trade Show, providing convention attendees the chance to receive the crematory operator training in advance of the show.

As a measure of the popular demand for the program, 51 people have already signed up to attend the French-language course. It will be taught by André Larin of J.A Larin & Fils Inc. and Luis Del Pino of US Cremation Equipment. Michael Sheedy of Service Corporation International and Larry Stuart, Crematory Manufacturing & Service, Inc., will teach the course in English. Space is still available. Visit www.FSAC.ca for more information and registration.

The Cremation Association of North America’s Crematory Operations Certification Program (CANA COCP™) is the most comprehensive educational program in the industry, covering the best policies, practices, and procedures for working with the families who have chosen cremation as their method of memorialization and disposition. Focusing on terminology, equipment, operations, policies and procedures, and reducing legal risk, the program uses training best practices to further education. Continuing the CANA tradition of training from practitioner, manufacturer, and attorney perspectives, participants interact with and learn from each other as well as the faculty.
