WILBERT HOLDS 6-HOUR CONTINUING EDUCATION EVENT WITH PIERCE COLLEGES AND PIERCE CHEMICAL

Over seventy funeral professionals from Illinois, Indiana and Iowa attended a recent day-long Continuing Education event at the Wilbert Funeral Services Training Center in Broadview, Illinois.  Instructors from Wilbert Funeral Services, Inc. (WFSI), Pierce Mortuary Colleges, and Pierce Chemical provided attendees with a total of six CEU credits on a wide range of topics:

  • Outer Burial Container Basics
  • Preparing for “Nones” in Funeral Service
  • Legal Issues that can Occur in Counseling
  • Better Communications with Families
  • Mix Matters
  • A Closer Look at Prep Room Safety

With the efforts of area Wilbert Licensees who promoted the event to their customers, the Training Center was filled to capacity with another forty on a waiting list.  The ConEd program was very well-received by attendees who appreciated the wide scope of topics and the shared knowledge of the instructors and co-attendees.

“We are happy to host these types of events for funeral professionals at our Training Center,” said Dennis Welzenbach, President of Wilbert Funeral Services, Inc. “It not only provides an opportunity for attendees to further their skills, but also a great forum for networking and idea-sharing.”

WFSI, Pierce Mortuary Colleges and Pierce Chemical planned a series of these events for 2016, beginning with a February session at the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service, Dallas, Texas, and followed up with the Broadview event in March.  Mid-America College of Funeral Service will host the event on August 24 in Jeffersonville, Indiana, and Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service will host the event on September 21 in Decatur, Georgia.  Due to the demand in the Chicago area, another event is also in the planning stages for mid-summer.
