MKJ Announces Napa / San Francisco Seminars

Largo, FL – 2016 may not be the best year to travel internationally this summer with terrorist attacks in Europe and Zika Virus in South America. But it’s a great summer to visit California wine country and San Francisco, the city where Tony Bennett left his heart. “Our seminars in Napa and San Francisco have been some of our most popular over the past decade, not only because of the fantastic location, but also because attendees can choose to attend one or both, each packed with information on ways to improve their business and marketing,” said Glenn Gould. “That’s why we’re adding these two seminars to our 2016 schedule, August 1-4.”

With consumers looking to understand the value a full-service funeral home provides, reception and event planning has never been more important. Receptions are becoming an important profit contributor for many funeral firms, and understanding your costs and profit margin can greatly reduce your risk. MKJ chose Napa for this special seminar to hear from the area’s own seasoned event planners, chefs, and wine sommeliers about how firms can create memorable experiences through ingredient selection, seating arrangements, and “signature” touches unique to your business. These experts also share cost-saving measures like portion control, menu planning, and set-up procedures. Attendees will also learn how death care firms have built their reception business through packaging, event design, and promotion, including various new digital advertising options that are effective while affordable.

San Francisco is the heart of US technology, and the perfect location for a digital seminar. A recent survey reported 98% of funeral homes have a website, but how many of those sites actually create business? Can consumers find the site when conducting a searches, or do you need to invest in Search Engine Marketing? Retargeting, a new online marketing technique, will also be explained in detail with practical advice on how to apply this technology successfully to grow business and increase brand awareness. And MKJ has secured a special insiders’ tour of the leading review site, Yelp, to help attendees understand how to secure good reviews and deal with any negative ones.

Both locations feature beautiful accommodations made more affordable through MKJ Marketing’s special group rates. The Villagio Inn & Spa in Yountville is in the heart of Napa, close to world famous restaurants like the French Laundry and Redd. The conference begins with check in on Sunday, July 31, and continues through Tuesday, August 2, though guests can also choose to spend additional time in wine country by coming in for the weekend.

MKJ’s seminar will then travel to The Ritz Carlton San Francisco on Tuesday afternoon for programming on August 3 and 4. Located in the heart of downtown, this 1909 Neoclassical landmark was just renovated and is unquestionably one of the finest hotels to call Nob Hill home. When not in the seminar, attendees will find it easy to explore the city’s spirited atmosphere and diverse cultural experiences as the historic cable car stops right outside.
