OGR To Host Young Professionals Event In Austin, TX February 28-29, 2016

AUSTIN, TX – January 2016 – The International Order of the Golden Rule (OGR), the world’s leading professional association dedicated to serving independent funeral homes, is excited to announce its  first ever Young Professionals Event to be held in Austin. “We are looking forward to hosting up and coming funeral professionals from around the country,” said Jessica Smith, Assistant Executive Director for OGR. “We hope that this event will become an annual affair and will foster new relationships for the next generation of funeral service professionals.

Young professionals will gain insights into how they can be their own bosses, avoid workplace burnout, influence decision-makers to adopt their ideas and solve workplace challenges. This two-day event will feature a generous mix of education peppered with a taste of Austin food, fun and culture. The event will include sessions, held at OGR’s headquarters, and dining at restaurants around town so attendees can experience the progressive city of Austin, while discussing new and unique trends and practices in funeral service. Presenters will include a mix of Austin entrepreneurs, a financial guru, and a noted psychologist.

“Fresh Approaches 2016” is an exclusive YP event for funeral home staff 40 years and under. “Our goal is to offer a new approach to the traditional conference.  We are certain that attendees will take home a new perspective on funeral service and how they can address the future of their businesses,” said Smith. Registration information can be found at www.ogr.org/young-professionals. Attendees can earn up to 6 CEUs in states where approved.
