BROADVIEW, IL, DECEMBER 18, 2014 – Wilbert Licensees from across the United States and Canada converged on the corporate headquarters of Wilbert Funeral Services, Inc. (WFSI) to learn and review best practices from burial vault manufacturing through delivery and graveside setup services.  Forty-seven individuals invested three days to attend the annual quality control school, this year entitled “Quality Control in the Windy City”, or “QC in the WC”.

The annual quality control school ensures that those involved in the production, delivery and graveside setup of Wilbert burial vaults are skilled and current in the strict processes and protocols required as a Wilbert Licensee.  Some of the topics covered at this year’s QC school were concrete batching and sealcoating, metal layup procedures, butyl tape installation, form cleaning and repair, plant safety, carapace image application, graveside service, and WilbertWay setup.

“The enthusiasm by all QC school attendees throughout the three days was most gratifying,” remarked Bobby Morgan, WFSI Field Service Director. “The best way to learn is by doing and every attendee took advantage of the many opportunities for hands-on training.”

Individuals who attended the 2014 “QC in the WC” were:

Funeral Homes are Struggling to Keep Their Doors Open

Ryan Thogmartin - August 13, 2017

This is a topic and conversation that does not get talked about or covered enough. We all want to put the blame on cremation and ignore the fact that many of the issues facing funeral homes aren't because families choose cremation but because of bad business decisions of many funeral directors who don't want to change or accept cremation.
