Homesteaders Pledges Major Gift To Funeral Service Foundation

Homesteaders Life Company, a national leader in prearranged funeral funding, is pleased to announce a $150,000 major gift pledge in support of the Funeral Service Foundation. This gift, which makes Homesteaders one of the Foundation’s top three financial supporters, will help advance its mission to fund projects and programs that support all of funeral service in building meaningful relationships in the community.

“We feel very strongly that our commitment to promoting the value of funeral service requires this level of investment in the Funeral Service Foundation’s programs that help shape the vision of our profession long into the future,” said Homesteaders’ President-CEO Steve Lang. “Homesteaders values our longtime relationship with the Foundation, and we’re pleased to provide resources that will have far-reaching benefits for funeral service.”

Funeral Service Foundation Executive Director Kathy Wisnefski will accept a ceremonial check for the donation during the National Funeral Directors Association Convention & Expo in Nashville, Tenn. Lang and Homesteaders’ COO Steve Shaffer, who are both trustees for the Foundation, will attend the gift presentation at the world’s largest gathering of funeral service professionals.

“Homesteaders believes in the power of philanthropy and its critical importance in helping shape our profession,” Wisnefski said. “This gift forges an even stronger bond between Homesteaders and the Foundation as we look forward to continuing our work together to positively impact our profession.”

The contribution from Homesteaders secures the company’s place as a “Foundation Visionary” on the Foundation’s Donor Recognition Honor Roll, and will directly support the Foundation’s efforts to enhance the funeral service profession and benefit funeral directors and allied professionals. These initiatives, in turn, can help funeral professionals have a positive influence and impact on local communities.
