Throwback Thursday: The Oldest Operating Crematories in the US

The Fresh Pond Crematory, in Middle Village on Long Island in New York, built the second public crematory in 1885, and is the oldest operating crematory in the US.

 

The Buffalo Cremation Company, Buffalo, New York, built the 3rd public crematory in 1885, and is the 2nd oldest operating crematory in the U.S.

 

 

The Cincinnati Cremation Company’s Hillside Chapel, Cincinnati, Ohio, built in 1887, is the 3rd oldest operating crematory in the U.S.
