2014 Best Places to Work in Atlantic Canada
Directors’ Choice was recently named one of the Best Places to Work in Atlantic Canada. This eighth annual program was created by Progress magazine and Best Companies Group.
This survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best employers in Atlantic Canada, benefiting the region’s economy, workforce and businesses. The list is made up of 31 companies.
To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:
– Be a for-profit, not-for-profit business or government entity;
– Be a publicly or privately held business;
– Have a facility in the Atlantic Canada region;
– Have a minimum of 15 employees in the Atlantic Canada region;
– Be in business a minimum of 1 year.
Companies from across the region entered the two-part survey process to determine the Best Places to Work in Atlantic Canada. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in Atlantic Canada, analyzed the data and determined the final rankings.
Directors’ Choice will be recognized and honored at the Best Places to Work in Atlantic Canada awards ceremony coordinated by Progress magazine on May 20 and will be profiled in a special publication by Progress magazine in Vol.21 No.03 (distribution in June). The final rankings will be announced at the event.
