Ivy Tech students win Trigard scholarships
Danville, IL – Trigard proudly awarded two $250 scholarships to Ivy Tech students Kelly Alvarez, a mortuary science student at Ivy Tech Community College in East Chicago, Ill, and Megan Valdes, a mortuary science student at Ivy Tech Community College in Indianapolis, Ind.
Trigard awarded Alvarez with her scholarship on the East Chicago Ivy Tech campus. Trigard Chief Executive Officer Linda Darby, Director of Business Development Ethan Darby and Project Manager Blake Swinford also educated the class about many facets of the death care industry and the importance of bringing passion to the profession.
The Indianapolis students travelled to Danville, Ill., to visit the Trigard manufacturing facilities, Trigard University, and Sunset Funeral Home, owned by the Darby family. Trigard is firmly committed to investing in the next generation of funeral directors who will care for families across the country.
ABOUT TRIGARD – Trigard is a family owned and operated business based in Danville, Illinois, that has catered to the varying needs of the death care industry since the 1960s. Trigard regularly hosts Trigard University, a program dedicated to assisting burial vault dealers and funeral directors by providing the necessary tools to make their firms succeed in today’s funeral industry. Trigard believes working closely with other death care providers enhances our knowledge of the industry and allows everyone to stay a step ahead in today’s changing marketplace.
