Brookfield, Wis. – The 2014 National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA) Professional Women’s Conference will bring together funeral directors, educators, expert presenters and suppliers in a unique, intimate gathering to generate new ideas, foster professional growth and create lasting friendships. This conference, which is the leading gathering for women in funeral service, will take place April 25-27 at the JW Marriott Buckhead in Atlanta, Ga.

Attendees can look forward to engaging conference sessions led by funeral service experts covering a wide range of topics:

  • Four Ps of Cremation presented by Michael Nicodemus of the National Funeral Directors Association
  • ABCs of Building Loyalty presented by Valerie Wages of Tom M. Wages Funeral Service LLC in Snellville, Ga.
  • Conversation Café facilitated by Valerie Wages and Jessica Koth of the National Funeral Directors Association
  • Transitions presented by Christine Biggins of Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home and Open Doors Yoga Studios in Rockland, Mass.
  • Ship-in and Decomposition Transformations and Closure Techniques for the Cranial Autopsy presented by Sharon L. Gee-Mascarello of Wayne State University in Detroit, Mich.
  • Taking Control of Your Financial Future presented by Meredith Moore of Moore & Associates Wealth Management in Atlanta, Ga.

The conference begins on Friday, April 25 with a complimentary welcome reception at 5:15 p.m. Immediately following the reception is the optional Funeral Service Foundation Fund Day event, Now You’re Cookin’!, an evening of fine cooking and dining. Whether they are a pro in the kitchen or novice, attendees will work side-by-side a local chef to prepare the first and last courses of a four-course New Orleans-style dinner. Then, they will be treated to a behind-the-scenes look at how the chef and his staff prepare the rest of the meal. As a reward for their hard work, attendees will enjoy the amazing meal that they helped prepare.
