Tributes Partners with TripPlanz to Introduce ‘The Travel-Enabled Obituary’
Tributes.com Launches ‘Tributes Travel’ to Help Consumers More Easily Coordinate Bereavement Travel Plans
BOSTON, MA – September 18, 2013 – Tributes.com, the online resource for local and national obituary news, announced today that they have formed a strategic partnership with TripPlanz, a product of Solutionz Holdings, to launch Tributes Travel. Tributes Travel services are now available on Tributes.com, the Tributes Obituary Distribution Network –150 broadcast partners strong and growing – and the websites of its premier funeral home partners. Tributes Travel is focused on easing the burden associated with planning funeral-related travel by travel-enabling obituaries.
Tributes Travel leverages the unique capabilities of the TripPlanz platform to allow the circle of grievers to plan travel to within 15 miles of the funeral home or a specific service location, directly from the obituary. By providing this highly integrated service, Tributes is helping reduce the need for either the immediate family or the funeral home to get involved directly with helping to coordinate travel arrangements for those that are traveling from a distance to attend services.
Tributes Travel provides highly competitive travel rates and a “compassionate service guarantee” on all bookings, backed by the TripPlanz professionals that are specially trained to handle bereavement travel and poised to delicately respond to booking questions 24/7. By year-end, the program will be enhanced to support mobile, online chat and push to talk to make bookings by phone with the travel concierge team.
“Tributes.com is squarely focused on providing highly valuable services to both the circle of grievers surrounding any death as well as the funeral homes that are supporting them,” said Elaine Haney, CEO & President of Tributes, Inc. “We are very excited to be partnering with TripPlanz to bring Tributes Travel to market – helping us facilitate the coordination of bereavement travel in a way no one else has within the travel industry. They truly understand the market needs and have fully customized their platform to support.”
“Tributes.com has rapidly established itself as the online obituary brand and this partnership, which has allowed them to leverage our travel expertise to innovate around bereavement travel and the travel-enabled obituary, made so much sense,” said Chicke Fitzgerald, Founder and CEO of Solutionz Holdings and the inventor of TripPlanz™. “We have known for a long time how valuable facilitating travel in proximity to an address would be in the funeral market and we are delighted to have found the right partner to make it available to millions of consumers.”
Tributes.com is driven by the belief that Every Life has a Story which deserves to be told and preserved.
Tributes.com is the online source for current local and national obituary news and a supportive community where friends and family can come together during times of loss and grieving to honor the memories of their loved ones with lasting personal tributes. Through one centralized national web destination, with 96 million and growing current and historical death records dating back to the 1930s, Tributes documents more than 80% of the deaths that occur in the U.S. each year making obituary and online memorial service information easily accessible. The site has experienced rapid growth since its launch in the fall of 2008, and is now relied on by thousands of funeral homes and close to 4M unique consumers each month to publish and locate obituary news.
