OKC Metro Funeral Homes Offer Free Services To Tornado Victims

Several funeral homes in the Oklahoma City metro area are offering free funeral and memorial services to the victims affected by the massive, deadly tornado that swept across Moore Monday afternoon.

An EF-5 tornado first touched down near Newcastle at about 2:56 p.m. Monday, and churned toward Interstate 44 and S.W. 149th Street.

At least 24 people, including nine children, were killed in the massive tornado that hit Monday afternoon around 3 p.m.

Several metro funeral homes, including the Resthaven Funeral Home, Memory Gardens of Oklahoma City, Moore Funeral Home, Cremation of Moore, Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, are offering their merchandise and services at no charge to the families who have been affected by the Moore tornado.

Additionally, Resthaven Memory Gardens will be providing burial property and service at no charge to those affected as well. Their staff and facility will be available 24hours a day during this time.

Resthaven is accepting food, water and monetary donations to aid the victims.

Ireland Funeral Home in Moore is also donating all services to anyone who lost a loved one in the tornadoes. There will be no cost to the survivors. Contact Karen Buckley at 405-412-8596.
