Potter’s Field: A Documentary About Students Who Volunteer To Give Funeral Services For The Unknown, Homeless

What happens to the homeless when they die? The Potter’s Field is a documentary about high school students in Louisville KY, who volunteer to attend funeral services for the unknown, homeless, and otherwise indigent members of their community.

The film is a collage of portraits, through the lens of the author and those he encounters, of society’s relationship to death. By examining what happens to those we don’t know, and specifically the people who no one is caring for, we (the collective, societal we) can discuss our own meaning, mortality, and purpose.
