VIDEO: Boston Bruins Fans Sing National Anthem in Emotional Pregame Scene

The Boston Bruins returned to action Wednesday night, taking part in the first major sporting event in the city since the tragic bombings at the finish line of the Boston Marathon on Monday.

The scene in TD Garden before the game was amazing. Simply, it’s a moment that will forever be remembered, a rendition of the national anthem that will go down with the version in Chicago during the Persian Gulf War in 1991.

Rene Rancourt, the legendary anthem singer in Boston, just stepped aside and let the fans take it away. Good call.

When the anthem was done, the crowd broke out into a familiar chant, of sorts. Instead of “Let’s Go Bruins!” the chant was changed to “Let’s Go Boston!”

The moment speaks for itself. Now, hopefully, the healing can begin and hockey will help. #BostonStrong
