The Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science Appoints Interim President – Jeffrey A. Shapiro

Cincinnati, OH, September 19, 2012:  The Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Jeffrey A. Shapiro as Interim President.

After his education at Rutgers University (B.A., economics) and the Wharton Graduate School, University of Pennsylvania (MGA, public finance), Mr. Shapiro first worked with the City of Philadelphia before embarking on assignments as a city manager in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania communities.

From that beginning Mr. Shapiro has served 40 years in the field of education administration and not-for-profit management.  That career spanned senior administrative and finance work with both major universities and smaller colleges.  Not-for-profit organizations included major government contractors, research organizations, and other education related organizations.

And of interest has also been his service as the senior administrator with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.

Most recently Mr. Shapiro served as the Vice President of Administrative Services at a small community college in New York, and before that worked as a senior financial and administrative Director of the development and operation of the Biomedical Graduate Research Organization at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

His portfolio also includes work in international education (that includes the management of an overseas school and smaller learning centers).

Mr. Shapiro’s maintains a notable expertise is in the area of working to revitalize organizations and develop a stronger basis for sustainability.  His broad range of experience and knowledge will be of great benefit to CCMS and we look forward to the collaborative approach he will bring to our educational community.
