Educational Trust Names Two New Trustees

The Board of Trustees of the Selected Independent Funeral Homes Educational Trust is proud to welcome Mrs. Alicia Carr and Mr. Steve Pierce as newly appointed Trustees of this charitable organization serving the needs of all who work within and in support of independent funeral service.

The official terms for Carr and Pierce will begin with the 2012 Selected Educational Trust Fundraising Gala taking place in Boston, MA on September 21 at the Westin Copley Place hotel, and will continue through 2015. These Trustee appointments are taking the place of Charles M. Billow, The Billow Funeral Homes and Crematory, Akron, OH, and John R. Rodenburg,Federated Funeral Directors of America, Springfield, IL, whose terms are now ending on the Board after years of dedicated service.

In the 22 years that Alicia has been with Kelco, what was instilled from the beginning remains today; their legacy for service is second to none.

Steve Pierce, a first generation funeral director of 25 years, joined Muehlebach Funeral Home in 2001 to begin the succession and independent ownership of the firm. In 2003 he purchased the business which was established in 1954.
