Veterans and Family Memorial Care Providers Send Holiday Cheer to Troops Overseas

Each year thousands of soldiers overseas enjoy a little taste of home and some Christmas cheer for the holidays thanks to participating Veterans & Family Memorial Care Providers. Communities all across this great nation rally in support of ?Christmas Stockings For Soldiers? by visiting their local participating VFMC Provider to pick-up a free Christmas stocking. They take the stockings home, decorate them and fill them with Christmas cheer. The stockings are returned to the funeral homes and shipped by them to units overseas in time for Christmas. VFMC Provider funeral homes are fortunate enough to obtain addresses of local soldiers serving in Iraq, Afghanistan and around the world which make this initiative even more meaningful. The following picture and thank you email was sent to the VFMC Exclusive Provider for Rochester, NY, Bartolomeo & Perotto Funeral Home.

Mr. Perotto,

?Lieutenant Kerner here from Soto Cano Air Base in Honduras. I am the Executive Officer of Headquarters & Support Company, Army Forces Battalion. I would like to express my deepest appreciation to you, Philip, and all of the staff there at Bartolomeo & Perotto for spending your time, your money to send stockings full of goodies to my service members here. It certainly meant a lot to them. Expect a small something in the mail from me, to arrive shortly. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family, and enjoy the attached picture!?
