Carriage Services Acquires California Funeral Home

imageCarriage Services Inc. has acquired funeral home business Heritage Memorial Services.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Houston-based Carriage, also a death care services provider, purchased Huntington Beach, Calif.-based Heritage from Dennis and Linda Gallagher.

The Gallaghers opened Heritage in 2001. It serves more than 560 families annually.

Carriage (NYSE: CSV) said that the Gallaghers will continue to be involved in Heritage as well as act as consultants to Carriage.

The acquisition gives Carriage 140 funeral homes in 25 states.
