How are you helping your customers handle the digital assets of their loved ones?

Do you know what digital assets are? What about digital identity? Yes, these are new topics that have never been openly addressed in the funeral industry, but have been talked about heavily in other industries. In fact there have been many Identity conferences held across the country discussing these issues.

So what are digital assets and identities? Well, if you have a Facebook account or any other social media account then you have a digital identity. Do you have an online banking account, Mint.com account, credit card account managed online? If you answered yes then you too have digital assets.

What happens to all of this info when you die? Where does it go? Have your attention yet? This is a serious topic that needs to be discussed in our industry. Funeral directors need to know how to help grieving families handle these online digital assets or digital identities.
