Question Of The Week: Would You Hire Someone Who Graduated From The Same Mortuary School You Did?

imageThis weeks question comes from a very large discussion that has been focused around the letter I posted last week that was written by the Funeral Ethics Organization and sent to the Council on Higher Education Accreditation. The letter, written by Lisa Carlson, and sited concerns about the curriculum content and accrediting policies brought forth by the American Board of Funeral Service Education (ABFSE).

Concerns were raised that today’s mortuary college students are not being taught many of the practical and necessary tools needed to survive in today’s progressively changing funeral industry work place.

The discussion that unfolded following the posting of the letter lead to the question: “Would You Hire Someone Who Graduated From The Same Mortuary School You Did?”

How do you feel and why?
