2 Huge ConnectingDirectors.com Announcements!!

imageThe last few weeks have been supppppeeerrr jammed pack! We have been furiously getting prepard for the ICCFA Convention next week. Our booth is fairly simple. I ordered a Royal Blue rubberized floor to use instead of paying the convention center an arm and a leg for carpet. I will be able to ship this floor to the other conventions we attend as well, saving us lots of dough!! I ordered an 8′ projection screen to display the website, and I have a big banner to set beside the screen as well. The look should be pretty cool. I am getting very excited!!

This is going to be our first time exhibiting at ICCFA and I must say, the peeps at ICCFA have been a total joy to work with. They have alot of rock stars working with their association, so my expectations are set super high.

To add an extra punch to our booth this year, I have invited two guests!! The first guest will be helping work the booth with me, and is someone who is very important in my life. My father!! My Dad has not been to a funeral industry convention before and is really looking forward to the opportunity and I am excited for everyone to meet him.

The next guest is Carmen Flowers, and she will be in the booth on Thursday. Carmen is co-author of the very popular book “Grave Expectations: Planning the End Like There’s No Tomorrow”. Carmen will have copies of the book for sale in the booth and will be signing the copies copies that are purchased. If you have already purchased the book, please bring it with you and Carmen will be happy to sign it.

We live in a world that is being run by mobile handheld devices and smartphones. It seems that everywhere you go people are getting all their information from a handheld device.

So, being the innovative company that ConnectingDirectors.com is, we are continuing to help the funeral industry progress along with society by announcing the first funeral industry iPhone and Android app!

The ConnectingDirectors.com app is titled “CD Dot Com” and was submitted for approval to the iPhone and Android app stores last Friday. Of course I will let everyone know when the app is available for download from each app store.

Oh.. and best of all the app is FREE!!!!

About Grave Expectations

It was on the drive home from a deadly funeral that we began to toy with the idea of writing this book. Once we got home, and drank enough champagne, we made the commitment to write it.

Life is such a rich, complicated, joyous, mysterious wild ride. Everyone has stories to tell and lessons to pass on, and what better way to do that than when you’re alive? It was your life; your funeral is the one time you can do and say absolutely whatever you want.

As of this writing, there is no alternative to dying. (You can be cryogenically frozen, but we wouldn’t call that life.) Since there’s no getting out of it, why not go ahead and plan your fantasy going “away” party? Is it just us or have you been seeing too many, “She’s not dead… she’s just away” bereavement cards? Of course you can’t really be too upset since according to the card she’s coming back.

We were destined to write a book about planning one’s own funeral. Between us, we have personally experienced three weddings, two divorces (all Carmen) and five suicides of close family members. We’ve nursed four relatives and friends through deaths due to cancer. We’ve survived cancer (Sue) and meningitis (Carmen) and if all that is not enough, we are both orphans. In spite of these experiences, or because of them, we do not fear death at all . . . we appreciate life that much more.

You can find out more about the book: read what others have said, take a peek at the table of contents, read an excerpt from the chapter entitled “Freeze, Boil, Liquefy and Preserve, and Other ‘Recipes’ For the Remains”. And of course, the book is now available from online and in-person retailers.
