Obituaries Are Dead, Rejected Article Gets Published!

image In October I posted an article explaining how Ron Hast and Mortuary Management rejected an article I wrote for their publication. Most people knew that me posting the article here on ConnectingDirectors.com was not a slap in the face to Ron or his publication, but a way for me to get feedback from thousands of funeral directors and see if my perceptions of the industry and obituaries were correct. I am happy to say that my opinions and thoughts were solidified by the feedback I received. The feedback was so over whelming that Ron Hast even called me to see what was going on.

Needless to say, Ron was not to happy with the feedback my article received here on ConnectingDirectors.com. After our conversation Ron still refused to publish my article and I refused to change it to meet his criteria. If you didn’t read the article I wrote and the reasons why it was rejected follow this link. In this months edition of MM Ron has posted a response to my article, if any of you subscribe to that publication then you can read it.

I am happy to tell you that there are two industry print publications that were progressive enough to contact me and offer to publish the article. Those two publications are: Funeral Business Advisor and YB News (click on the publication to read the article online). I would like to thank Michael Manley and Peggy Rouzzo for being open minded and having a vision for where this industry is headed. Thank you for continuing to publish my articles and providing quality information for funeral professionals.
